Description: This course is for students with no prior knowledge or minimal skills in American Sign Language (ASL). The course is designed primarily to develop students' receptive and expressive skills in ASL in functional settings. Students will be introduced to general historical factors that have contributed to American Deaf culture and the development of American Sign Language. UC/CSU
