Transfers ToNot transferableDescriptionThe following English skills are an integral part of this course: reading, writing, speaking, listening, and vocabulary. Reading assignments will include poetry, short stories, and drama. Spelling and content words will be chosen from the assigned readings. Students will be introduced to the process of writing. Oral reports, readings, and recitations are incorporated into this course. Students will be required to study a major novel and participate in an independent reading program. The course format will include activity-based investigations with hands-on activities, concepts, and applications compliant with the California Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts to meet the minimum course requirements for high school graduation.
