    Description
This course covers programmable logic controller (PLC) programming and operation. Students will learn advanced ladder diagram operations and common block program instructions of the PLC which include editing, programming of timers, counters, compare instructions, master control relays, math functions, move (MOV) and jump instructions using Studio 5000 software. Students will create event sequencing and continuous cycle logic by using event-driven sequencing programming fundamentals. Students will learn the concepts of a reciprocating actuator, and design a reciprocating PLC project to control a traverse axis. Students will also learn to diagnose faults, troubleshoot and force PLC discrete inputs and outputs. Students will set up communications between devices using an unmanaged switch on an Ethernet IP network.
