    Prerequisite
    Courses taught at the level of Introduction to College Composition with a grade of "C" or higher or "Pass" or equivalent or appropriate placement based on the college's multiple measures process with eligibility for ENGL C1000 or ENGL C1000E. This course addresses 17th and 18th century philosophy with an emphasis on metaphysical, epistemological, political, and psychological developments of rationalism and empiricism in philosophical thought from Descartes to Kant and may include approximate precursors and successors. Special attention is paid to reading primary philosophical texts.
