The Nursing Process as a dynamic, systematic way of delivering patient care is defined and demonstrated. Elements of the Roy Adaptation Model for Nursing are taught as the basis for assessing patient care needs. Students learn to apply the Nursing Process and Roy Adaptation Model to clinical practice when planning and providing nursing care. Content also includes communication theory and application, client teaching concepts, assertion theory, and critical thinking foundational skills. Prerequisite: An active LVN license or current enrollment in a vocational or registered nursing program or completion of one or more Associate Degree Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing courses with a grade of Pass or "C" or higher.
