    Prerequisite
    Courses taught at the level of Introduction to College Composition with a grade of "C" or higher or "Pass" or equivalent or appropriate placement based on the college's multiple measures process with eligibility for ENGL C1000 or ENGL C1000E. This is a course in the study and development of the novel emphasizing structure, theme, and style. Students will situate the study of the novel within larger political, cultural, historical, and philosophical trends to better understand its development and status. Representative novels from across the globe will be read and discussed.
