    ESL 4/104 with grade a "C" or higher or "Pass" or equivalent OR AED 42.18 or equivalent (non-credit Adult Ed. ESL) with a grade of "Pass" OR satisfactory completion of the assessment/placement process with eligibility for ESL 5/105 . This is a low-advanced course designed to improve the grammar, reading, and writing skills of non-native English speakers. This course provides instruction of advanced-level grammar, critical reading and thinking, paragraph and short essay writing. Punctuation rules, sentence variety, and academic vocabulary will also be taught along with continued emphasis and practice in listening and speaking in an academic context.
