    Pass AED 42.17 High Intermediate English as a Second Language course or assess into AED 42.18. This course is designed for students successfully transitioning from the AED High Intermediate English as a Second Language course and for students who assess with moderate to high English language skills. English listening, speaking, reading and writing will be taught using an integrated skills approach with the main objective being to help students advance in fluency and proficiency. Special emphasis will be placed on effective communication, on developing critical thinking skills to prepare students for success in High Advanced ESL courses, success in GED courses and success in their community and in their workplace.
