    Description
    This course is an introduction to government and politics in the United States and California. Students examine the constitutions, structure, and operation of governing institutions, civil liberties and civil rights, political behaviors, political issues, and public policy using political science theory and methodology. This is an honors course. This honors course provides enhanced academic rigor with demands that exceed those of a standard version of the course. Critical analytical written work is the primary means of evaluating student performance in this course. Highlights student research, critical writing, and oral reporting, both individually and in group projects. May be offered in a distance-learning format.
