    Description
Explores some of the most controversial works of art throughout history and examines aesthetic issues such as: what makes something art; must art be beautiful or must it spawn an intense feeling, whether pleasing or disturbing; what is an aesthetic experience and why does it mean so much to us? Readings will be principally from primary texts. May be offered in a distance-learning format.
