Transfers ToNot transferableDescriptionPrepares students to apply for certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and to provide care to clients across a variety of healthcare settings. This course serves as the clinical component in skilled nursing facilities required to meet the state-mandated curriculum. Instruction and practice include patient rights, interpersonal communication, safety, infection control, fundamental clinical skills, nutrition, rehabilitation, documentation, and end-of-life care. Students successfully completing both theory and clinical courses are eligible to take the California Department of Public Health CNA certification exam. Limitations on enrollment: CPR certification required prior to the course. Students must be over 16 years old at the time of the course start.
