- Provides an introduction to the health inequities in the United States that stem from unequal social conditions. Examines how education, socioeconomic status, racism, gender, and other marginalized group identities shape health epidemics and policy development. Includes the exploration of fundamental theories to advocate for health and social justice and the practice of community-organizing approaches. May be taught in a distance learning format.
