    Description
    Emphasizes listening/speaking skills and reading/ writing skills at an intermediate level. Focuses on comprehending and engaging in extensive conversations related to many topics, both familiar and unfamiliar, such as housing, food, health, transportation, employment, community resources, interpersonal communication, and personal growth. Students read simple adapted narrative and descriptive passages and use basic grammatical structures to write short, clearly organized paragraphs and messages. May be offered in an Open Entry/Open Exit format. May be offered in a distance-learning format.
