Environmental problems and issues are examined in both historical and current contexts in the California State and Federal domains. Encourages citizen participation and advocacy for social, economic, and environmental justice. Topics include socioeconomic causes of resource degradation, governmental and interest group roles in developing and implementing policy, cost-benefit analysis, science-based decision making, case studies, policy effectiveness, and reform.
