    Description
    Surveys major British writers from 1785 to the present, including representative texts by such writers as Blake, Wollstonecraft, Wordsworth, Keats, Austen, Dickens, Conrad, Yeats, Woolf, Joyce, Eliot, and Pinter; also includes texts by major non-British writers in English, such as Beckett, Gordimer, Achebe, Friel, Heaney, and Rushdie. Relates the literature to the social, political, and cultural contexts in which it was written. Students enrolled in the Honors Transfer Program may count this course towards the "Honors Scholar" designation with an Honors Contract. May be offered in a distance-learning format.
