    Description
    Studies developmentally appropriate practice in early care and education including theoretical perspectives and a review of historical context. Explores and emphasizes the key role of teacher-child and child-child relationships, constructive interactions, and teaching strategies supporting comprehensive development of all children. Examines the role of the early childhood educator in identification of current best practices for environmental design, curriculum, and teaching strategies. Explores professional ethics, career pathways and professional standards. Assignments assume access to young children in group settings. May be offered in Spanish or in a Bilingual Format. May be offered in a distance-learning format.
