    Focuses on building strong partnerships between early care and education teachers and families using the family-centered care model. Family-centered care emphasizes: two-way communication and decision making; honoring diversity; acknowledging family and teacher expertise; and building networks of support. Studies the benefits of the partnership for children, families, teachers, and programs, and emphasizes the development of the specific Early Childhood Educator Competencies for family engagement. Appropriate for family childcare providers. May be offered in a distance-learning format. May be offered in Spanish or in a bilingual format.
