    Presents practical ways for teachers and parents to support the language development of young children in bilingual or multilingual settings through curriculum development and authentic assessment. Focuses on similarities and differences between first and second language acquisition; the relationship of language development to beginning literacy; and on the impact of partnerships between school and family on children's language development and sense of self. May be offered in Spanish or in a bilingual format. May be offered in a distance-learning format.
