    Description
    Presents a survey of the major classes of organic and biochemical compounds as they relate to the chemistry of life processes. Topics covered include the preparations, reactions, properties, and naming of compounds of hydrocarbons, alcohols, ethers, thiols, aldehydes, ketones, carboxylic acids, amines, esters, amides, carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, nucleic acids, and metabolism. Designed for students preparing for the dental hygiene program or a four-year nursing degree. May be offered in a distance-learning format.
