Focuses on the history of microbiology and the role of microorganisms in disease causation and transmission. While all microorganisms are introduced in this course, the emphasis will be on bacteria. Students will engage in activities to demonstrate the appropriate methods for handling, transferring, culturing, and identifying bacteria.
