    Description
    Continues the study of American Sign Language (ASL), practicing and building upon foundational ASL skills. Develops receptive skills for language comprehension and expressive signing skills for language production. Examines features of Deaf culture that influence the use of the language in daily life. Mechanics of the language will be firmly couched in the tenets of Deaf culture. Incorporates a particular focus on the impact of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, and ethnicity, on the individual's Deaf cultural identity. May be offered in a distance-learning format.
