    Explores the visual grammar and aesthetics of photography while examining its evolving roles in the history of the arts and society. Develops techniques for analyzing and critiquing photographic imagery by applying photographic theory within historical, philosophical, political, and aesthetic contexts. May be offered in a distance-learning format.
