The physical properties, reactions and reaction mechanisms of conjugated systems, aromatic compounds, carbonyl compounds (aldehydes, ketones, carboxylic acids and their derivatives), amines and biomolecules are studied. Laboratory work includes advanced techniques in reaction conditions, product separation, purification and spectroscopy. Graded only.
