    This course explores and explains the developmental stages of language and communication and techniques that support and promote building a foundation for reading, writing, listening, and speaking through the use of developmentally CHLD 30A appropriate practices. Students develop activities and an environment that promotes language and literacy development in young children. Students also produce research quality literature suitable for children up to eight years old, with emphasis on techniques of selection and presentation of books. Recommended Preparation: ENGL C1000 (formerly known as ENGL 1A) and CHLD 30.
