    This course is an overview of the history and philosophical foundations of probation and parole. Organization and operations of probation will be explored. Issues and problems relating to the pre-sentence report, determinate versus indeterminate sentencing, role of the probation and parole officer, legal decisions affecting probation and parole practice will be examined. Recommended Preparation: ENGL 50X.
