- Students should have at least high school level performance experience in the course medium. Fundamentals of improvisation for vocalists and instrumentalists. Application of scales and their relationship to chords. Modes, jazz rhythmic phrasing, blues progressions and cycle of dominant seventh chords. (C-ID: MUS 185)
