This course is a basic study of molecular structure, bonding, nomenclature, reactivity and other physical and chemical properties of organic and biological compounds. It places an emphasis on the preparations, reactions, and naming of compounds. The laboratory generally evaluates material that is covered in lecture. The students learn to acquire and interpret experimental data using safe laboratory techniques and equipment.
