An advanced investigation of the theoretical principles, material elements, and cultural practices of painting. Projects emphasize student-driven research and cultivate conceptually driven creative practices and methods. Students will use deep investigation of painting fundamentals to develop a cohesive body of work in dialog with specific historical and contemporary approaches to painting.
