This is an intermediate-level investigation of the theoretical principles, material approaches, and cultural practices related to drawing as a creative expression. Projects emphasize the elements of 2-dimensional composition as a means for developing complex subject matter, concept-driven work, and individual creative development. Students in this course will build on the fundamentals of drawing to sharpen their perceptual skills, exercise formal concepts, and critically engage with historic and contemporary practices.
