This course meets the Standards and Training for Corrections (STC) requirements for field probation officers who are required to carry firearms in the performance of their duties. Topics include introduction to firearms, firearms safety, basic firearms manipulation, use of force, weaponless defense, weapon retention, and tactical movement. Students are required to participate in live-fire exercises and pass the PC 832 and close combat firearms qualifications.
