    Description
    2) possess a valid California Driver's License 3) undergo a fingerprint and criminal history check 4) be a minimum of 18 years of age 5) be a United States high school graduate, pass the GED, pass the California High School Proficiency Examination, or have attained a two-year or four-year degree from an accredited college or university, and 6) complete a medical suitability examination. This course satisfies the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Level II reserve peace officer training requirements. It is the second in a three-part series of courses which prepares students for entry-level employment as reserve or regular full-time California peace officers. Topics include principled policing in the community; property crimes; crimes against persons and death investigations; laws of arrest; search and seizure; presentation of evidence; use of force and de- escalation; patrol techniques; crimes in progress; crime scenes, evidence, and forensics; arrest and control; firearms and chemical agents; cultural diversity and discrimination; and introduction to lifetime fitness and officer wellness.
