Topics include anatomy and physiology, care of traumatic injuries, patient assessment, environmental injuries, medical emergencies, common simple wilderness medical problems, basic wilderness survival for the initial responder, improvised bleeding control in the field setting, and selecting and caring for wilderness medical equipment and supplies. This course emphasizes improvised care options and long-term care in field settings.
