Students apply fish biology to the management of fish and fisheries, and their impacts on society and the environment. An experimental approach is taken, emphasizing scientific inquiry and hypothesis testing to understand both the biology of fish and effective management of fisheries and aquatic habitats. Fisheries' sustainability issues are investigated, including interdisciplinary biology, chemistry, environmental, ecological, economic, and social aspects.
