It includes the history of the field, an introduction to vertebrate wildlife, and the foundational aspects of ecology and evolution. Field exploration of and methods used in vertebrate wildlife ecology, along with conservation of and threats to wildlife and biodiversity are highlighted. Additional topics include wildlife as individual animals in populations, populations in communities, and interactions and processes of ecosystems; wildlife habitat; invertebrate wildlife; behavior; population dynamics; life history and reproduction; movements, spatial organization and range limits; and interspecific interactions.
