    This course was formerly known as HIST 311 History of the United States (1865 - Present). This course is a survey of United States History from 1865 to the present. It analyzes many of America's political, social, economic, and intellectual institutions, including their influences upon contemporary life. This course also examines this nation's increasing involvement in world affairs. These analyses are set within the context of such historical concepts as evidence, cause and effect, multiple causation, and historical interpretation. This course is not open to students who have completed HIST 484.
