Topics include the needs, alternatives, and pitfalls of spatial database development and conversion. It examines various types of spatial and tabular data applicable to GIS, as well as relevant issues such as hardware and software requirements. Particular attention is paid to determining appropriate methodologies, conversion plans, and data quality assurance procedures.
