    Description
    Completion of 1 to 2 years of adult school courses or English language skills at the foundational level. Students in this course learn academic reading and writing English skills at the novice-high level, with an emphasis on vocabulary development, reading comprehension, and the development of paragraphs. It covers the development of compositions with a clear beginning, middle, and end. This course is part of the reading and writing sequence which prepares ESL students to take college courses leading to a certificate, degree, and/or transfer. This course serves as a prerequisite to ESL 47.
