Focused on complex, in-depth reading assignments, it develops the analytic skills needed to examine fiction, poetry, and drama, expanding on those covered in a traditional ENGWR 301 course. The course includes culturally responsive texts representing diverse perspectives and cultures. It covers inductive and deductive reasoning about literature and the written analysis of literature, requiring at least 6,500 words of formal, analytical writing. This course also examines literary theory and research, the use of primary and secondary sources, and MLA documentation.
