It focuses on works written by Americans of Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, Hmong, Korean, and Vietnamese descent but also includes the work of other Pan-Asian American writers. This course explores the diaspora and ways in which the experience of being Asian in America has shaped the literature and examine the differences and similarities of these experiences across cultures, generations, genders, and sexuality. Optional field trips may be included.
