In this course, students receive instruction in academic reading and writing, including writing processes, effective use of language, analytical thinking, and the foundations of academic research. Students develop audience awareness, individual writing voices, and synthesis and critical thinking skills essential for successful completion of a college program through a variety of written assignments (5000 words). The course emphasizes workshop, collaboration, and reflection on the writer's process. This course was formerly known as ENGWR 300 and is not open to students who have successfully completed ENGWR 300, ENGWR 480, or ENGL C1000H.
