It covers networking addressing, which includes calculations and conversions between binary, decimal, and hexadecimal numbering systems. It also surveys data communication hardware and software components and basic networking concepts. Topics include data communication, the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) and Transmission Control Protocol and the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) models, IP addressing and subnetting, routing concepts, LAN media, network configuration, troubleshooting, management, and analyses. This is the first course in preparation for the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification examination.
