Topics include smog check laws, rules and regulations; standards of practice; engine theory, design, and operation; emission control theory, design, identification, operation, and testing; smog inspection visual and functional testing procedures; and loaded mode emission testing. It is required for first-time licensed inspection technicians. Along with completion of AT 332, this course meets Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification standards for the A8 Engine Performance certification.
