Transfers ToNot transferableDescriptionThis course provides skill-building support for students enrolled in or preparing to enroll in Introductory Chemistry or General Chemistry I/II in order to set students up for success in chemistry, ensuring they are as prepared as possible for their upcoming or current chemistry classes. Topics include study skills, lab safety skills, algebra and calculator literacy, scientific notation, significant figures, unit conversions, chemical nomenclature, atoms and molecules, and balancing chemical reactions. This course is designed to help students needing to review and/or catch up with their previously learned chemistry course material and/or to stay up to date and gain confidence with their current chemistry course material. Material in this course is presented in multiple fully accessible modules to encourage students to practice at their own pace and according to their own personal learning needs in an approachable and accommodating environment. Ideal for students who are seeking supplemental instruction alongside their main chemistry course before, during, and/or after the semester. Requires a minium of 16 hours participation.
