Students will rotate through emergency departments, intensive care units, labor and delivery, operating rooms, cardiac catheterization labs and pediatric units, applying paramedic-level knowledge and psychomotor skills in real-world patient care settings. Clinical shifts are scheduled in 8 to 12-hour sessions, with a minimum of 200 clinical hours required. Additionally, students will meet biweekly for three-hour in-class sessions to present case reviews (Grand Rounds) and participate in structured debriefings. This course builds upon knowledge and psychomotor skills learned in EMSP 323, EMSP 324, EMSP 333, EMSP 334, EMS309, EMS310, EMS321 and EMS323. This course aligns with the DOT NHTSA National Emergency Medical Services Education Standards (2021), California Code of Regulations, Title 22, and Santa Barbara County LEMSA Protocols. This is an 8 week course.
