    Description
This course is designed to complement EMSP 334: Paramedicine Theory 2 by providing hands-on psychomotor training in the advanced skills necessary for the assessment and management of trauma and special populations in prehospital environments. Students will develop skills in small group sessions, large group exercises, and scenario-based simulations. Topics include trauma management, obstetric and pediatric emergencies, operational procedures, mass casualty incident response, vehicle extrication, and hazardous materials scenarios. This course aligns with DOT NHTSA National EMS Education Standards (2021), California EMSA guidelines, and Santa Barbara County LEMSA protocols. This is a 12 week course.
