This course builds on the foundational knowledge and skills acquired in EMSP 323. It provides advanced instruction in the management of trauma, special populations, and operational aspects of paramedicine. Emphasis is placed on evidence-based practices and the application of theoretical concepts to real-world scenarios. Topics include trauma systems, obstetrics, pediatrics, geriatrics, patients with special challenges, and emergency response operations. The curriculum adheres to the DOT NHTSA National Emergency Medical Services Education Standards (2021) and California Code of Regulations, Title 22 and prepares students for advanced paramedic roles in diverse and high-pressure environments. This is a 12 week course.
