Students will experience real-time, scenario-driven emergency responses in fully simulated environments, assessing and managing critically ill or injured patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations. Students will be assigned to simulated Advanced Life Support (ALS) response teams (engine/rescue companies), consisting of 4-6 students per team, and will respond to 8 immersive medical and trauma scenarios per day over two 8-10 hour class sessions. These scenarios serve as stress inoculation and capstone assessments, ensuring students demonstrate competency before transitioning to their field internship phase. The course aligns with DOT NHTSA National EMS Education Standards (2021), California EMSA guidelines, and Santa Barbara County LEMSA protocols. This is a 2 day course.
