    This introductory survey course follows the development of the visual arts of Africa, the Pacific, and the Americas with an emphasis on the period before European contact. Art is discussed in its historical and cultural context. Contemporary methods of critical analysis are applied to the historiography and traditional methods of display of the visual cultures of these people.
